Ok then.
Things I like about Springfield:
Barnes & Noble, but you can find those all over.
Reniassance (it's a new age shop off Fremont.)
Wilsons Creek
Sequiota Park
There are some great Halloween stores in Oct.
Farmers Market
Things I Hate about Springfield:
The worst library I have ever seen.
More bad drivers in one place than I have ever seen anywhere else.
There isn't much to do really.
No goth clubs/bars :(
Hastings isn't here anymore :(

My thoughts...
1. driving in st louis on any highway at any time of day...2. there will never be any goth clubs or bars, this is the bible belt...
3. there's a lot to do but hard to find somewhere that isn't full of drunk frat guys trying to either grope you or fight.
4. Looking for something to do on a particular night? Let me know what your interesting in and I may be able to hook you up with SOMETHING, just give me 10 minutes.

Re: My thoughts...
Hmm... I've actually had much better experiences driving in St.Louis... I think just general bad driving and city driving are different. But that's my opinion. I don't mind driving in St.Louis and do it quite a bit. I have friends who went to school here who think the same way. Eh, it doesn't really matter, it's not like it will change and we'll probably still have differing opinions on it too, but that's ok, makes things more interesting :)I know it's the Bible Belt, I also know that there IS a goth population here. I just find it sad that in a city of this side there's nothing like that. Columbia is MUCH smaller than this place and they had those things. I don't expect there to ever be anything like that here, I do know what the place is like, I'm just saying it sucks *shrugs*

Heh, I know. That's why I said there's nothing to do. If I were single it would be a different matter :p As for when I'm looking for things to do it's pretty much relegated to the weekends because of my husbands weird work hours :s But if you can think of anything I'm open to whatever you could come up with, be it a museum or a club I don't know of. I'm pretty easy going but I don't like being stuck inside and bored all the time :p

There probably isn't a goth club around here because no one has opened one. All it takes is one person with a vision to start a trend. Look at the downtown.
Did you know Renassance moved?
How can you not like the library? For the size of the area its top notch.

Well, if I had a mind to open a club or something that would be great, but I have no desire to do that :p
Yup, I haven't been to Renaissance since they moved back... but that's where they used to be and I liked it better but it looks like they might have a little more space this time. I'm hoping to get there sometime this week and see :)
Really? I think the library here is horrible. I have never once had them actually have a book that I was looking for... then there's the fact that they don't take stolen or missing books off of their list. I was looking for one a few weeks ago that was listed as checked out... in 1997... why is it still on the list? That's just silly.
And I really just don't think they have much. I know it could be worse, but I wouldn't say it's great, the best I can say is that it's ok. It's better than not having one at all. But I've definitely seen better and in smaller towns.
It's not so bad that I won't use it but it's not good enough for me to recommend it, if that makes sense. There's also the fact that I am biased to the MIZZOU and Columbia city libraries (but especially MIZZOU). I'm picky when it comes to books and places that sell/loan them.
